This team provides and integrates key messages about protective factors via the East County community churches. The faith community also provides representation on the other teams. Highly supportive of anti-drug, healthy family issues this team ensures that GGAPP coalition efforts effectively network to churches, youth groups and family activities within the faith communities.

The Faith Team held a successful Leadership Training: Introduction to a Congregational Alcohol and Other Drug Ministry.
How successful was this training? Very!
71% of attendees stated they will be able to apply the information they learned in their work and within their congregation.
93% believed they are now better able to "understand the role of the congregation in alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and addition recovery support" as a result of this training.
When asked what the best part of this training was, participants responded:
"Getting input into an area that has been personally challenging"
"[this event] reduced my antipathy toward organized religion"
"learning how I as a Pastor can better serve my congregation and community in drug prevention"
"the framework it offers to undertake the ministry — good humor and perspective ( realistic)"

Upcoming Faith Team Breakfast!The GGAPP Faith Team invites Faith Community Leadership of the greater East County area to the second FAITH BREAKFAST, at the Nazarene Church 3445 Hillyard, in Gresham on October 14, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. The free event will be hosted by the Faith Team of the Greater Gresham Area Prevention Partnership and will include a hot breakfast, guest speaker and presentation on the Upcoming Home for the Holidays Initiative. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS For a designated period of time, December 21 to 27, 2008 the GGAPP Faith Team and Compassion Connect will engage with faith communities to undertake a series of networked activities in the community for ‘one week of no homeless or want’ with focus on the a specific program to assist homeless teens during this week.

Register for the Faith Action Team's Team Ministries Leadership Training to be held Friday, September 25th at 8:00 am.
There is a need for faith leaders to demonstrate effective leadership and knowledge in their congregations about substance abuse and addiction. This training will help Ministers, Pastors and Faith Leaders to discover a model of guidance for the prevention of substance abuse and addiction.

East County Faith Leaders attended a presentation by Luis Palau, Christian Evangelist and Author, on Tuesday June 10, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. at the Springwater Church of the Nazarene, 3445 Hilliard, in Gresham. This event was hosted by the Faith Team of the Greater Gresham Area Prevention Partnership and was a great success!
