The East County "Community of Choice" is a project led by GGAPP in partnership with Outlook Newspaper, local service agencies, and the Mt Hood Community College of Visual Arts.
The Community of Choice project has created a THINK-U-MENTARY about the East County community.
Highlighting the many positive qualities of the East County, the video identifies key issues confronting East County communities and illustrates how those issues relate to substance abuse. Poverty, homelessness, the local economy, jobs and keeping youth in school all contribute to community livability. Through celebrating our Community of Choice, the video provides viewers with an intimate look at where we live and how we live there. By building awareness within the community about these critical issues the producers hope to increase interest in community improvement and the desire to get involved. Representatives will be available to help attendees bridge the gap between that desire to get involved and taking action.
